Dream SMP has countless hours of content, but it's really hard to navigate these days. Here is a handy-dandy table of contents!
Keep scrolling if you want to learn more about the rules of the server!
A compilation of all songs and animatics listed throughout the Dream SMP's pages as well as a list of popular fanfics in the fandom.
Where can I watch it for myself?
Unfortunately, most of the Dream SMP is streamed on Twitch, meaning that a lot of the old VODs are lost to the sands of time. However, due to either the content creator's VOD page or the diligence of the fandom, most of the main VODs are still avaliable to watch once you know where to look.
A good place to start overall is TommyInnit's VOD channel linked here. He has one to two hour VODs of all of his important events alongside other funny/noncanonical streams.
If you're on a tight schedule and don't have time to watch all of Tommy's point of view, Wilbur has his view set up in digestable thirty minute chunks here. However, he only has the first season on his channel.
Philza's can be found here, Quackity's can be found here, and Technoblade's can be found here.
For everyone else, you're going to have to do some digging either here at archive.org or here in an unlisted playlist of the streams that have survived and resurfaced.
Blueberry TV on Youtube has edited many of the streams to just the story part, but has also edited out many of the jokes and other things that make the SMP charming.
And finally, Evan MCGaming has summarized a lot of what's happened on the server, although he does interpret characters and motivations differently than most of the fandom.
Yes, there are! There are transcripts of important streams as well as essays covering characters and motivations.
Not to mention, there are tons of fan content across all platforms, from Twitter to Tumblr, Reddit and Tiktok, Archive of Our Own, Youtube, and even Twitch itself containing fanart, fanfics, animatics and animations, roleplays, musicals, meta essays, songs, and so much more!
Each character has three canonical deaths. While Minecraft allows multiple deaths per player, only the important or plot-relevant deaths count towards the three. Once those are gone, your character is gone for good.
However, ghosts are known to exist in this universe, and you can come back from the dead, it's just very difficult.
Hell exists (also known as Limbo), and it's different for everyone.
The end dimension (where players fight the dragon) is banned due to Dream wanting long-term content out of the server.
Automatic and industrial farms are also banned for that same reason, although this rule is overturned at the beginning of Season 4.
Songs written by the fandom will have blue text reading the title and artist of the song underneath the video. They can be used to set the tone for a character or an event and can be played while reading the page it's embedded in.
Green text denote animatics from the fandom that favor cinematography over accuracy to the source stream(s). These are fast-paced and usually scripted with a song in the background. Many are trailer quality and take artistic liberties. These can be used to help clarify the events as well as understand what the tone was during a specific event or arc. Some animatics in this category simply convey a particular message that I thought was worthy of bringing up and have little to do with the original stream(s) that the idea came from.
Orange text denote animatics from the fandom that favor accuracy to the source stream(s) over cinematography. The audio is usually ripped directly from the stream(s) with little to no editing and usually no music over it. These can be used to convey the content creator's acting skills and tone of voice during the more heated scenes of the SMP.
Characters will have both information on the character as well as the content creator that plays them regarding where they're from and what they were known for before they made it to the Dream SMP.
Any relationships that are mentioned are clearly between characters only unless otherwise mentioned (ie, the content creators are not really another creator's parents, two content creators are not dating even if their characters are, etc). The groups of friends listed are the cliques that they play with both in character and out of character, for sake of the audience to learn who's who quickly.
The name listed first is the name that I refer to them as. The following names in the parentheses are additional aliases.
I have selected both their Minecraft skin as well as some fanart interpretation to understand the character interpretation better.
Important and notable streams will be linked when possible.
The Dream SMP is a fictional Minecraft roleplay, but some elements do not sit well with audience members. Please consume source material and fancontent safely.
Material includes:
Of course, being portrayed in Minecraft, there is some degree of separation from reality, and most of the more serious stuff will have their own content warning and skip button. Knowing more about the silly little block game is not worth your mental health and wellness. Please consume safely.
Since the server's creation and story, many of the creators who play these characters have been recognized as not very good people and have fallen out of general favor and support. It is understandable if you feel uncomfortable with mentions of the creators or their characters. This site acts as an archive, so all characters will be mentioned and referred to throughout the site according to the role that they play within the story. Links as to what was happening in the fandom concurrently will also be provided at your discretion.
