The Peaceful Era

The Dream SMP started on April 24th, 2020 as a server to check out the then new Nether Update. It was very much your standard "online friends play on a Minecraft world together." This introduced several fundamental characters: Dream, George, Sapnap, Callahan, Sam, Ponk, Alyssa, and Bad.

Dream (DreamWasTaken)

  • Titular character

  • Known for his Minecraft speedrunning, manhunts, and modding videos
  • Streamed his perspective through the fight for L'manberg's Independence
    but stopped because he wanted his audience to watch other creators.
 Dream's Minecraft skin. It doesn't look like a person. Dream's white blob face is drawn on like the body is a canvas, mostly on his chest while also covering his arms and legs. The rest of his skin is a bright lime green.
Dream's skin

  a drawing of Dream as a human holding an axe and a sheild. His white blob has been interpreted into a white smiling mask that covers part of his face. The small part of his face that can be seen is looking to the right into the distance. He has ruffled blond hair. His axe is raised, but he isn't holding it to attack or defend himself, and his sheild is lowered in a relaxed position. He wears an outfit reminiscent of a fantasy rogue that matches his color scheme of green, black, and brown. His shirt is more like a poncho with a cloack's hood with a simple baggy shirt underneath in the same light green color and fabric. Gold trimmings outline the seams and the inside of the hood. A thick brown belt wraps around Dream's waist. He also wears black pants tucked into darker shin-high boots that are cuffed. There are some splashes of blood on the outfit.

George (GeorgeNotFound)

  • Doesn't like to take the story seriously
  • Best friends with Dream and Sapnap, forming the Dream Team
  • Known for his Minecraft speedrunning, manhunts, and modding videos
  • Has a tendency to not care for the plot and sleep through the events
  • British streamer
 George's Minecraft skin. It's a recoloring of the classic Minecraft skin Steve. George has lighter skin than Steve and brown hair, and is wearing white round sunglasses and a blue Supreme logo shirt over simple blue pants and black shoes.

Sapnap

  • General antagonist
  • Best friends with Dream and George, forming the Dream Team
  • Known for his Minecraft speedrunning, manhunts, and modding videos
  • Has a reputation of killing Minecraft pets, for being hot-headed, and for committing arson
  • Potentially half-demon, as he has said his character is Bad's son
  • American Streamer
 Sapnap's Minecraft skin. He has light skin, thick shaggy black hair with bangs that are pulled out over a white strip of fabric tied around his head, dark blue eyes, a white t-shirt with a flame in the center of the shirt pulled over a black long-sleeved undershirt, black track pants with white stripes running down the side seams, and white and black checkered sneakers.
Sapnap's skin
  This is a redraw of a frame from Sad-ist's Warriors animatic. Sapnap is drawn from the shoulders up, tightening his headband at the back of his head as he smirks into the camera. The forest behind him is on fire, and his eyes, hair, and clothes reflect the red light.

Bad (BadBoyHalo, BBH) and Skeppy (Skeppy)

  • Best friends with Skeppy, friends with George, Dream, and Sapnap
  • Hates swearing
  • A demon
  • Very sweet person
  • Muffin
  • Known now for Minecraft manhunts, used to be an adimn on a large Minecraft server
  • American streamer
 Bad's minecraft skin. He is humanoid, but no skin shows. He wears a red and black fantasy rogue-like outfit. His hood is pulled up, only showing the dark black shadow. His eyes contrast greatly as they are bright white. The top is black and outlined in red. A brown strip crosses from his right shoulder to his left hip. A dark grey and light grey checkered pattern sits above his collarbone. He wears black pants with the same red outlines as his top and red and grey sneakers. He also wears grey gloves.
Bad's skin		 Skeppy's minecraft skin. His whole body is colored to look like the diamond block from Minecraft. Each of his limbs, his torso, and his head are sectioned off to look like they're each made from diamonds. He has very wide black eyes on the very edges of his face, and he wears a playful smile that shows his red tongue.

  • Best friends with Bad, friends with Techno
  • Known for his Minecraft pranks
  • Is Bad's physical representation of his three canonical lives, so Bad can't lose a life unless Skeppy does
  This is a drawing of Bad from the shoulders up. His skin is black and blends in with his fluffy hair that sticks out from his hood. He is smiling mid-sentence it looks like. His eyes and open mouth are white, and the outline of a single fang can be seen in his mouth. White blush is on his cheeks. Two devil horns poke out from the side of his head through the black hood outlined in red. The grey checkered fabric looks to be a scarf sitting around his neck. A thin black and white halo floats above his head. Two talking lines shoot out from Bad's head on either side while a cute muffin drawing sits under the lines.   This is a drawing of Bad and Skeppy together as humans. They are both dressed in their minecraft skins' clothes. They each have one arm wrapped around the other's shoulder, and their faces are somewhat touching. Bad has light skin, brown hair, and is wearing glasses. He has red devil horns poking through his black and red hood. He's wearing a grey t-shirt under his black and red hoodie. His eyes are closed and he is smiling contently. Skeppy has tanned skin, brown hair, and is sticking his tongue out. He's wearing a light blue beanie with his minecraft skin's face on it. He wears a brown t-shirt under his light blue hoodie. The arm that is not around Bad is holding up a peace sign. His eyes are closed and he is smiling while also sticking out his tongue. Both Bad's and Skeppy's Minecraft skins have been drawn below in a cute style reminiscent of how Dream's blob is interpreted. They are quite small compared to the people above them, and they looked confused at each other. The hand that Bad doesn't have wrapped around Skeppy is placed on Bad's Minecraft skin's head.

Even though this era is known as the Peaceful Era (as it was BT or Before Tommy), there were still conflicts that arose such as Ponk's lemon trees burning down and Dream's horse named Spirit dying to mobs.

   A screenshot of Dream's stream showing off the first rendition of the community house. The community house is a complete square floating in the middle of a lake. Wood plank walkways connect the building to land. An oak door leads into the community house at the end of the walkway. The building itself is made of brick and glass windows with the space between the first floor and the second made out of stone bricks. The entire second floor is flooded with water that can be seen through the windows. In the background, parts of other builds can be seen: a wheat farm, a stone and obsidian tower, a spruce wood building, a pillar of cobblestone, and a bunch of bamboo grown to the highest height.

The community house was also built during this time.



Some people would even go as far as lumping in some aspects of Tommy's story here, as Tommy took to pranking and griefing Dream, George, and Sapnap whenever he possibly could. He was held on trial, thrown in jail for a bit, even banned at one point, which provoked Dream to steal his music discs in a light-hearted manner, always ending up in Tommy's hands at the end of the day. It wasn't until more members joined where the definitive Season One begins.
