Traffic SMP

This is the landing page for the various SMPs that fall under the name "Traffic SMP" but are more well-known by their individual seasons, 3rd Life, Last Life, Double Life, and Limited Life. Each season is self-contained and can be binged from multiple points of view. While each season does have their own mechanics, the main identifying trait that they all have is a three-lives system. Everyone starts out in an enclosed hardcore server with three lives and is considered "Green." If they lose a life, they have two left and are considered "Yellow." Should they lose their second life, they become "Red" and hostile, allowed to kill Greens and Yellows. Ergo, the Traffic SMP.

Each season will have a short intro for characters and mechanics, a recap as to what happened each week along with links to everyone's episodes, and most of all, spoilers. They will be supplemented with fanart and animatics from the community.

3rd Life

This season was the first and introduced the series. For many, it's considered the best of the seasons so far, but be warned that it does take a few episodes to start to get interesting. This is the most cut-and-dry season as it was originally pitched to be a change-of-pace for the Hermitcraft and Empires content creators, but I've heard that this season is more warlike and a tale of heartbreak and betrayal.

Last Life

This season is the second season in the series, following an immense and rejoyous success from 3rd Life. Last Life kept the Green, Yellow, and Red coloring system but changed the amount of lives each person recieved at the beginning of the series. Each creator recieved a random number of lives from two to six, introducing a new level of Dark Green for players who had more than three lives. With this change, players now have the ability to give one of their lives to another player adding a new level of strategy to the game. On top of those changes, this season introduced the Boogeyman mechanic, where each week, a player gets chosen at random as the Boogeyman. The Boogeyman must kill another player either in combat or with a trap else next session, the player who was the Boogeyman will lose all of their lives and turn Red. This season can be summed up as a tale of betrayal through alliances but set in a sort of Among Us -esque game.

Double Life

This is the third season in the series, keeping with the confusing name sequence. The reason why this season is called Double Life is that each player is joined via a soulmate bond with another player. Everytime someone takes damage, their soulmate also takes the same amount of damage. This season resets the amounts of lives each person gets to three and also removes the Boogeyman mechanic, but now players have a built-in ally that cannot (or should not) betray them. In this season, alliances and allegiances form between players who normally wouldn't ally. However, players can choose to ignore the soulmate bond and ally themselves with others regardless. This season is a sort of rom-com with the usual amounts of backstabbing and tragedies.

Limited Life

As of now, this is the fourth and currently ongoing series. Personally, I liked the name Second Life but it's officially known as Limited Life. In this series, the three life system has gone out the window. Technically, players have an unlimited amount of lives but they have to play their cards right. There is a personal timer set for 24 hours, and now any player with more than 16 hours is Green, between 16 and 8 is Yellow, and less than 8 is Red. Players can die as much as they want, but each time they die, they lose an hour off their timer. In this series, Yellows can kill Greens, and Reds can kill anyone, meaning that a successful kill will give the killer 30 minutes back onto their timer. The Boogeyman's Curse is back, and should they kill someone, they earn an hour back while the person who died loses two hours. If the Boogeyman fails, they lose enough time to put them at the next lowest color.
